Mazda 6 boasts upgrades inside and out for 2016

Mazda is staying ahead of the game by introducing new features to the highly successful "6" model. The updated exterior differences are subtle but very effective at streamlining the appearance. A look into the cabin shows the substantial additions to an already impressive interior.

Exterior / Under the Hood

The front bumper sports intakes that have been altered to produce a high-tech horizontal effect. The tail lights have also been revamped for an updated appearance. Under the hood, the 2.5 liter 4 cylinder engine is standard producing 184 horsepower and 185 ft-lb of torque. Capable six-speed manual and six-speed automatic transmissions are available. MPG ratings come in at 25 city and 37 highway.

Interior Features

Inside the cabin, you will notice significant upgrades. A revamped dashboard and center console gives a new look to the interior. The center display for 2016 is placed above the dashboard like the CX-5 display. HVAC controls are now below the slim-design center air vents. The overall appearance is that of a streamlined futuristic cockpit. Color choices for the seating are beige or black applied to cloth or leather upholstery.

Safety features

Mazda will offer a full selection of active and passive safety systems. Blind-spot monitoring, lane-change warning, and automatic braking feature to avoid a forward collision are available for the 2016 model. High-beam control and 4-wheel ABS with brake assist are also options. Standard safety features will include advanced front airbags, front side-impact airbags, side air curtains and Dynamic stability control.
