Experience the impressively upgraded 2017 Volkswagen Passat

With last year’s model experiencing an impressive upgrade, one wouldn’t think to expect many changes to the new 2017 Volkswagen Passat. Yes, the changes are subtle, but they’re important enough to make the new Passat a very attractive option if you’re looking at new cars for sale.

Standard safety features

Forward Collision Warning and Autonomous Emergency Braking will come as a standard across the board on all Passat models in 2017. This safety feature monitors the front of the vehicle, sounding a warning if a collision is imminent and automatically stopping the car if the driver doesn’t respond.

New trim lineup and features

Most of the changes to the 2017 Volkswagen Passat involve features available on the different trim levels: the SE trim will now include keyless access and push-button start, as well as the features offered with the previous model such as Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, USB ports, and heated leatherette seats.

The 2017 Passat’s R-line trim now includes the Composition Media touchscreen, Front Assist, Blind Spot Monitor, and heated leatherette seats. Some of these features were only available with the previous model when upgrading to the R-line Comfort Package.

The 2017 Volkswagen Passat V6 SE with Technology is a new trim level, available as an ‘order only’ option, that allows drivers to add several features to the V6 engine models. These include LED headlights and taillights, remote start, Park Distance Control, and 18-inch-aluminum-alloy wheels.

Why the 2017 Subaru Forester is the torque of the town

Most changes in the 2017 Subaru Forester are subtle and what you would expect from a mid-cycle refresh: slightly revised exterior and interior styling and upgrades, a few new safety features… However, what makes the 2017 model stand out from other new cars for sale is the addition of brake-based torque vectoring as part of Subaru’s active safety suite.

Active Torque Vectoring

Active Torque Vectoring will now be available, but only on the top-trim version of the turbocharged, 250-hp Forester 2.0XT. This brake-based feature snubs the inside front wheel during cornering to reduce understeer and enable sharper handling and will be packaged as part of Subaru’s Eyesight active safety suite, which has also been upgraded.

Upgraded safety features

Eyesight has received a long overdue update for the 2017 Subaru Forester. New safety features include lane-keeping assist, blind-spot detection, and rear cross-traffic alert, in addition to previous features such as adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning, and lane-departure warning. Eyesight will be available on all Forester models except the 2.5i base trim.

Interior and exterior

The exterior of the 2017 Forester features subtle changes, such as LED accent lights, a reshaped hexagonal grille, and revised wheel designs. Inside, there’s a new steering wheel design (with optional heating on certain models) as well as improved soundproofing and Saddle Brown leather seats as a trim upgrade on all Touring models.

Other features that will be more accessible as trim options for the 2017 Subaru Forester include keyless access, automatic climate control, a power liftgate, and Subaru’s X-Mode traction system and hill-descent control.

The 2017 Mazda 6 - A family sedan with a sporty side

Between 2017’s new cars for sale, the Mazda 6 shines as a superb family vehicle that is a pleasure to drive. The 2017 Mazda 6 combines comfort and safety with a sleek design and enhanced luxury features for an overall better driving experience.

New driving features

The 2017 Mazda 6 is one of the vehicles in Mazda’s lineup that will be debuting G-Vectoring Control, which makes fine adjustments to engine torque that induce load transfer toward the front axle as the steering wheel is turned off-center, resulting in improved steering response. This adaption allows for smooth, quick cornering - lending a sporty feel to the Mazda’s driving capabilities.

Also, new to the 2017 Mazda 6 is an upgrade to the i-Activsense safety features, which can now detect pedestrians in addition to other obstacles. In addition, the upgraded i-Activsense package now includes traffic-sign recognition (including speed-limit, no-entry, and stop signs), and the emergency braking function operates up to 99 mph.

Luxury interior styling

While the exterior styling of the 2017 Mazda 6 has barely changed, when it comes to the interior you can expect a host of new luxury features, such as a new steering wheel design (with optional heating), a full-color TFT driver information display, and improved sound proofing.

A new Premium Package offered on the 2017 Mazda 6 Grand Touring is what truly takes this sedan to new heights of luxury. Included in the Premium Package are Nappa leather seats (in a choice of black or almond) with titanium gray piping and stitching, LED interior map lights, heated rear seats, darker metal trim, and the upper trim and headliner available in black. Displaying typical Mazda attention to detail, the Premium Package also features a steering wheel stitched using the specialized Japanese Chidori technique.

What’s new for the 2017 Ford Mustang?

Exterior and interior styling of the 2017 Ford Mustang haven’t changed much. After all, why fix what’s not broken? Ford introduces 3 hot new colors for the 2017 model - Ruby Red Metallic, Lightning Blue, and Grabber Blue - to replace the Deep Impact Blue and Competition Orange.

The most significant change, however, is the accessibility of the previous Ford Mustang GT’s Track Package option. What was formerly an optional upgrade will now be standard on all 2017 Ford Mustang GT models. These features include an aluminum tower-to-tower brace, a high-downforce, deck-lid spoiler, engine oil, transmission and differential coolers, and Ford’s MagneRide damping system.

Available upgrades on the Ford Mustang have also evolved slightly - offering greater flexibility when customizing extras. Two new packages are available: an Electronics Package and a Convenience Package (previously the Tech Package which could not be combined with the Track Package).

The Electronics Package includes SYNC 3, voice-activated navigation and nine-speaker audio system. The Convenience Package includes all features of the Electronics Package, in addition to replacing the Ford Mustang’s manual Recaro seats with leather-trimmed power-sports seats.

If it’s ultimate performance that you are after, then take a look at the awesome Shelby GT models available.
